    Description

    ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED SILK FAN with BOX. SIGNED A. LAURONCE ~ PIERCED IVORY STICKS. Fan opened measures 22" x 11.75" high. The scene depicts two men talking to a woman in rather fancy, formal attire, (Spanish?) a carriage in the background and another woman, a servant or pheasant girl. The sticks are in good condition, although one rib is missing and silk is coming apart from lower center. The tassel is included however is not attached. It is marked and dated Fresno Calif September 20, 1885 on back left side. The box measures 14.5"x4"x3.5", made of wood with brass hardware, design on top. Inside is lined with ivory coloured silk. Bottom emblem reads Austrian Court Boxes.
