Beautiful vintage 1995 Dulcimer Factory 4 String hourglass Dulcimer.
A 1995 "Artist" model purchased at The Dulcimer Factory in 1996, and unfortunately, this beautiful instrument has spent its entire life in the case. The instrument is in like new condition and shows no wear. I also have a case with the DF label, a DF labeled set of new strings, a couple of business cards, tablature book, and original receipt. The instrument was purchased new for my mother, but she never learned to play the instrument. A beautiful hourglass Mountain Dulcimer 4 String ‘Artist’ model with bird and vine cutout resonators. The wood is simply beautiful with matching woodgrain on the front and back of the instrument, which research has led me to believe that the instrument was made of solid book-matched wood. I am unsure of the type of wood, but may be cherry. It was one of the top of the line instruments in 1996. The instrument is right at 35” long. Inside the instrument is a TDF sticker with the following hand-written in blue ink: 9520919DF4 along with what I understand from research are John Naylor’s initials. The case is a chipboard (Semi-Hard shell) case with a golden plush interior, and 3 latches to secure the lid. The outside of the case has a DF label on it.
