Vintage Art Deco Large Black Ostrich Feather Celluloid Bird Flapper Folding Fan
This vintage Art Deco large black ostrich feather celluloid bird flapper folding fan dates from the 1920s. It is made of large fluffy black ostrich feather plumes. This fabulous flapper folding fan has a faux tortoise shell celluloid sticks and an engraved bird with red beaded eyes, embellished rhinestone accents on the body. The fan measures 27 inches long. It is in fair as-is condition, needing some restoration repairs or used for display, upcycling. There is a broken feather, some molting, a loose stick, a broken stick, the bottom loop ring, rivet is broken being held together with a black ribbon and the bird guard has some crazing, cracking deterioration on the celluloid plastic (see close-ups). This is truly wonderful piece of Art Deco antique feather fan art!
